Avoid ATM Fees & Surcharges
There are two different costs you might incur for using an out-of-network ATM. An ATM surcharge is assessed by a financial institution for using one of their ATMs when you are not a customer. Bankrate.com reports that the average surcharge for using an out-of-network ATM in 2014 was $2.77.
Financial institutions typically also collect ATM fees from their own customers if they use an ATM outside of their approved network. An SLFCU member who uses an out-of-network ATM would receive a $0.75* fee from SLFCU in addition to the surcharge.
NEARLY 30,000 SURCHARGE-FREE ATMs
You can avoid ATM surcharges from other financial institutions by using the CU Anytime and CO-OP network of nearly 30,000 ATMs nationwide.
